Safety First
If you smell gas, suspect carbon monoxide, or see sparks, evacuate immediately and call 911. Do not attempt to operate your system if you suspect a safety issue.
Check if other devices in your home have power to rule out a general outage
Remove and reinsert the Boiler thermostat batteries making sure contacts are clean
Check the Boiler thermostat circuit breaker or fuse if it has a dedicated one
Verify the Boiler thermostat is securely mounted to its wall plate
Call for Boiler service if the thermostat screen remains blank
