Follow these emergency steps in order. If at any point you feel unsafe, evacuate and call for help immediately.
Safety First
If you smell gas, suspect carbon monoxide, or see sparks, evacuate immediately and call 911. Do not attempt to operate your system if you suspect a safety issue.
Check if the Boiler thermostat display is on and showing a reading
Replace the Boiler thermostat batteries with fresh ones
Verify the Boiler thermostat is set to the correct mode heat or cool
Check if the Boiler circuit breaker or switch supplying the system is on
Call for Boiler service if the thermostat still does not communicate with the system
